Decision Making Guidelines

Daily Decisions
The parent who has child will make the small day to day decisions as needed.  

Emergency Decisions
Emergency medical care necessary for the preservation, or to prevent a further serious condition, of child may be authorized without consulting the other parent, provided the other parent is notified as soon as possible.  

Medical Decisions
Decisions about child’s major medical care shall be made jointly. 

Dental Decisions
Decisions about child’s major dental care shall be made jointly.  

Counseling Decisions
Decisions about child’s counseling shall be made jointly. 

School Decisions
Decisions about child’s school, grade, and any special program placement shall be made jointly. 

Childcare Decisions
Decisions about child’s full-time childcare provider shall be made jointly.
